Itinerary
Upon arrival, you will be receiving by our driver at the Airport outside the terminal. After you comfortably get in your car, drive to the highlands and the misty hills of Munnar, where, unfolding lush green carpeted landscapes enthrall. Munnar is always breathtakingly beautiful, a haven of peace and tranquility – the idyllic honeymoon destination in God’s own country. Munnar is known as the Gateway of Hills in South India. Munnar, once the favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. Check in to your hotel and later enjoy an evening walk along the tea plantations which will reawaken your inner senses.

After leisurely breakfast, head out on a discovery tour of the Munnar hills and tea estates. Visit the mountainous Eravikulam National Park where you can see the rare Nilgiri Tahr (mountain goats) and later visit the Tata Tea Museum. During the tour, visit Mattupetty Dam site and chances are you may even spot herds of wild elephants and monkeys along the way.

After breakfast, you will journey on to Thekkady. Enroute stop at Lockhart Tea Plantation which offers many alluring sights and a get off and do a short walk there. Later proceed to Thekkady while crossing the Gap Road to see the breath-taking sights that these mountains and valleys have to offer. On reaching Thekkady, enjoy a short visit to the Spice Garden before Check in your Hotel.

Periyar, named after Kerala’s longest river. Spend the evening soaking up the sounds of nature during your boat ride along the dense forest trails, learning about the endemic flora and fauna, as Banyan, Teak and Bamboo trees provide a serene backdrop for a lesson in Kerala wildlife. You may be able to see herds of wild elephant and bison seeking to quench their thirst along the quiet shores of Periyar Lake. Or keep a keen eye out for hornbills, flycatchers and kites – some of the many species of local and migratory birds that flock to this pristine sanctuary.
After an early breakfast, you will journey on to Kumarakom. Enroute stop for a scenic view of Western Ghats, Later Check in your resort, rest & relax. Kumarakom is famous for Nature and Birds. Hence there is an ample opportunity for watching local birds like the bright blue kingfisher, water fowl, cuckoo, owl and water hen, other common varieties like the wood pecker, sky lark, crane and parrots can also be spotted nearby places

After Breakfast and some leisurely strolls around the lovely resort, get ready to board your exclusive Houseboat which awaits you for your cruise. The backwaters of Kerala are unique and are found nowhere else in the world. A glide on a “Kettuvallam” (Houseboat) through the enchanting backwaters and narrow village canals is sure to steal your heart. A natural universe, so quiet and calm, the tranquility you experience is one of the best memories to take back. Sparkling greens, emerald backwaters, coir-laden houseboats and magical beauty heals your mind and body as you travel through surreal Kerala. Enjoy a traditional Kerala lunch served board. Later, you will be served tea and the famous fried Kerala banana fritters. All meals are freshly cooked on board the houseboat by the chef.

IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO EXPLORE OLD TOWN COCHIN - Proceed to Fort Cochin (Kochi) Sightseeing. Cochin known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea, an interesting historical city with a rich colonial past spanning over 2000 years (Jewish, Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch & British) Enjoy a half day sightseeing tour in and around Fort Kochi and Jewish quarter. Sights to see include, St Francis Church, built in 1503 by friars brought to India by Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama, is the first European built church in India, also the site where Vasco da Gama was buried. Chinese fishing nets by the entrance of the port where the Arabian Sea meets the harbor. Also visit the Santa Cruz Basilica, Paradesi Jewish Synagogue, Dutch palace and stroll around the narrow-paved lanes of Jew town discovering antiques and spices.
